Path, women in business have to walk through!

There are plenty of difficulties faced by women who are in business; emotional, financial, professional, personal and the list goes on but some of the big stones in the path of a businesswoman are listed below.

Imbalanced responsibilities:

Most of the women in the business industry are not only entrepreneurs but they also have many domestic responsibilities to perform. They have to create balance between both of them, a little imbalance can make either one fall apart. Handling challenges from personal and professional commitments at the same time can be very hard. Although time is changing now but still a huge number of women  are expected to fulfil demands of their families. Some can manage both together but most fall apart in either sphere of their lives.

Poor support system:

Support is the most supreme thing that an entrepreneur can have. In business, chances of success and failure are equal but if you have a strong support system behind you, chances of success are enhanced exponentially; a support system that is pushing you, impelling you, motivating you, against all the odds. If a woman has an adequate support system, which drives her to do things that she ever wanted, she can get the best out of everything. But an environment where she is not being motivated or if she is not given enough importance for what she does or a family where she is not appreciated, such circumstances will end her career one day or other, no matter how self determined she was.

Male dominance in business industry:

Social and traditional constraints restrict women’s participation in business. In some countries, women have to have a male partner to do deals, negotiate, and to be the face of the business. Sometimes women may feel as though they need to adopt a stereo-typically male attitude toward business; aggressive, competitive and often harsh.

Timidity:

When business women succeed, they hesitate to talk about their accomplishments because of the fact that people may consider them proudy or having an attitude, but no woman should hang back. In fact, they should stand by for what they have accomplished and let people know about them.

Funding issues:

In business, not only women’s ideas are often less appreciated but also people are reluctant to invest because of gender and cultural biases. Many institutions tend to invest more in male-owned businesses. A number of businesswomen are not given financial support, even loans are also being denied just because of gender inequality.

Gender inequality:

Even in the 21st century that we are living in, gender inequality still exists, especially in those industries where men have been dominant for long. Business industry has long been a man oriented industry, although a huge number of women are now working as entrepreneurs but still they have to face gender inequality in various phases of their career. Although we have laws and policies to create a favorable environment for women now, our society still lacks in implementations.
