Lamar Rutherford is not only a debut fiction author but an accomplished business professional and an avid adventurer.
By day, being an exit consultant, she sells multi-million dollar businesses for owners, helping them figure out the best way to transition out of their business by either selling to an outside party, to a family member, a partner or an employee. Lamar helps business owners to find the best exit and get best out of their business. She’s been working with owners for over ten years.
Lamar herself is a business owner, a former C.P.A, an MBA and has an amazing quality to find creative solutions in challenging situations for multi-million-dollar business industries. She was originally a C.P.A with Arthur Andersen & Co and has her MBA from Dartmouth. She has founded and operated three businesses, a bagel shop, a cafe and yoga studios. She has also worked in brand management for Nestle and Disney, has been on the management teams for three Internet start-ups, helped launch a B2B software company, and managed the sales & marketing for a luxury, international hotel.
She is a lecturer at Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego where she has been teaching entrepreneurship courses since 2010. She has proven to be an expert negotiator in sales because of her expertise in wholesale distribution, manufacturing, retail, technology, medical, etc. Her proven track record of successful sales, makes her a fortunate entrepreneur.
In her free time, she loves adventure, having travelled the world over, including playing polo in India, Morocco, Dubai and Argentina. She also enjoys dancing tango, taking her adorable dog, Kenzie, to the beach, and sharing cultural entertainment with friends. But one of her favorite past times is an evening in, creating captivating stories for her readers.
Her passion for writing and her love for polo compelled her to share a story in a book, CodeY. Her unique fiction style of weaving action-adventure with a romantic twist, make this novel one of its own kind. She has written this based on her travels, adventures and of course love for polo. Her writing will make the reader realize that finding a perfect trait in a partner can’t guarantee you to have a perfect relationship.
